Valletta U-11s second in Sicily tournament Published on: 17-09-2013
The Under-11 team of the Valletta FC Youth Nursery recently took part in the SSD Santa Sofia Calcio Licata SRL Tournament, held in Sicily. Led by coach Joe Abela and his assistant Marlon Cassar, the Valletta boys finished top of their group after winning all their matches. Valletta made it all the way to the final, losing on penalties after a hard-fought encounter ended in a draw. Several teams from Sicily participated in this well-organised tournament which provided the participants with an enjoyable experience. At the end of the tournament, the Valletta U-11 team were presented with the Fair Play trophy for their exemplary conduct.
