A heavily-depleted Valletta side were still strong enough to beat Ħamrun Spartans 10-4 at the Corradino Pavilion, yesterday, to become the new Gatorade Futsal League champions.
The decisive match from the best-of-three final was played behind closed doors following trouble at the end of the second tie which Valletta won 7-6 to even out the series following the Spartans’ success on penalties in the opener earlier this month.
At half-time, Valletta led 8-2 with Player of the Year Jovica Milijic helping himself to a hat-trick along with Christian Cuadros Silva.
