Valletta for Libya friendly next week Published on: 14-09-2012

Valletta will be flying to Libya next week to play a friendly match against Al Ahly Sports Club in Tripoli.
Al-Ahly, with the largest number of fans and the second most successful team in their country with ten league titles, will be marking their 62nd anniversary next Wednesday.
As part of the celebrations, they invited Valletta to take part in a commemorative match at their 80,000-capacity stadium in the Libyan capital.
The Citizens are planning a short stay in Libya.
In fact, they will fly out to Tripoli on Wednesday morning and play Al Ahly in the afternoon. The Valletta contingent is expected back home late in the evening.
This will be the second friendly outside Maltese shores for Valletta in the space of a month following the pre-season match in Olbia against Cagliari in August.
On that occasion, the Serie A side won the encounter 3-0.
