Valletta FC won the first honour of the futsal season when they thrashed University of Malta 13-1 to lift the
Super Cup at the Corradino Pavilion on Friday. Following their successful qualification to the UEFA Futsal
Champions League Main Round, the team led by coach Xavier Saliba, showed great confidence as they completely outplayed their opponents. The Citizens all but wrapped up the win by the end of the first half when they opened a nine-goal lead through a Jovica Milijic hat-trick, two goals from Camilo Vanegas Gomez with the others coming from Gia Nikvashvili, Dylan Musu, Shawn Vella and an own goal by goalkeeper Jonathan Martinelli.
On the restart Valletta added four more goals through an own goal by Daniele Degennaro, Musu, Denis Di Maio and Daniel Saliba. The only goal for the University was scored by Degennaro.
