Valletta FC in Andorra Published on: 09-07-2012

Maltese champions Valletta, yesterday morning left Malta to Andorra to play the second leg of the first preliminary round of the UEFA Champions League against FC Lusitans.
Valletta won the home leg with an 8-0 result last week against FC Lusitans. The Citizens managed to achieved two records with this result, they became the first Maltese team to obtain the best result in European competitions while Malta captain Michael Mifsud scored four goals, a great achievement no Maltese player ever managed to achieve in 50 years of participation in European competitions.
The Valletta squad left Malta at 9:00 am to Barcelona Spain. Then the squad travelled to Andorra capital city Andorra La Vella by coach, a trip that took approximately three hours.
The Valletta squad consists of:
Goalkeepers: Manuel Bartolo, Yenz Cini, Andre Krul.
Defenders: Ian Azzopardi, Steve Borg, Jonathan Caruana, Ricardo Da Rocha Filho, Jusselio Da Silva.
Midfielders: Edmond Agius, Gilbert Agius, William Barbosa, Roderick Briffa, Dyson Falzon, Ryan Fenech, Cleavon Frendo, Kevin Sammut.
Strikers: Jhonnattann Benites, Michael Mifsud, Denni Rocha Dos Santos.
The away leg will be played at the Estadi Comunal Stadium, Andorra La Vella, at 7.30 pm (local time) and will be controlled by referee Huw Jones from Wales.
