International defender Steve Borg this evening concluded talks with Valletta F.C. and signed a five-year deal.
Borg, whose five-year contract with Valletta expired at the end of last season, had agreed personal terms with Platinum Stars in Africa following a very good impression during a trial.
However, Steve’s plans had to be changed when, only days before he was due to travel to South Africa to complete his move, Platinum Stars reportedly informed him that they had cancelled their offer after signing a local defender.
A product of the Mosta F.C. Youth Nursery, the 26-year-old defender joined Valletta F.C. in July 2009. Borg also made his debut with the National team on October 10, 2011 during a match against Latvia. He is regarded as one of the strongest defenders in the country.
