Steve Borg expected to make his return in October Published on: 16-07-2013

If all goes well, the Citizens hope to get Steve Borg back on the field in October, this was confirmed earlier today by team manager Jerry Ellul.
Steve has been on the disabled list with a injury since last November.
Having established himself as a first-choice player for the Citizens and the National squad, Borg began last season confident of maintaining his steady rise but his hopes were dashed when he fell victim to a knee injury.
To make matters worse, what was supposed to be a straightforward recovery from a knee operation turned into a nightmare as Borg contracted a potentially deadly infection after having surgery.
Later, the international defender travelled to Sicily to have his knee checked again and the doctor discovered that he also had a torn cartilage. After a month Borg had an operation in his cartilage successfully in Sicily.
Currently, Steve Borg is undergoing Tecar Therapy at the MFA training centre. The therapy will enable Steve to build strength in his muscles.
On behalf of the club’s official website we would like to wish Steve all the best with his recovery.
