Preview: Day 8 vs Vittoriosa Stars Published on: 19-10-2013



Second placed Valletta, face newly promoted Vittoriosa Stars tomorrow kick-off 18:00hrs at the Centenary Stadium. The Citizens bounced back in style on their last outing scoring three goals against Sliema Wanderers.

During the last match, coach Mark Miller made no less than five changes from the team which lost to Birkirkara with Pietro Marino being left out of the squad, Yessous Camilleri, Dyson Falzon, Jason Vandelannoite and Denni starting the game on the bench. Ian Azzopardi was unavailable due to injury.

Vittoriosa Stars are currently seventh with eight points. They suffered their first defeat at the hands of Mosta but they bounced back with a 1-0 victory over Qormi  in their fifth league match. They shared the spoils in a 2-2 result against Tarxien Rainbows during their last match.

Coach Mark Miller will have to do without Luke Dimech, the international defender is ruled out through suspension. Midfielder Dyson Falzon is also missing for tomorrow’s match while defender Ian Azzopardi is recovering from an injury he picked up during the match against Naxxar Lions.

Vittoriosa Stars will have Portuguese midfielder José Filipe Caldeira Aguiar missing through suspension for tomorrow’s match.
