Preview: Day 27 vs Birkirkara Published on: 22-03-2014

The last game of the first round of the Championship pool is on the verge. Sunday evening Valletta will play against the leaders B’kara, which should be one of the highlight’s game of this season. As usual for the last couple of years the game against the stripes will be an interesting encounter. During the last couple of years the rivalry between the two teams and two sets of supporters grew up and made this encounter as one of the most awaited during the season.
Birkirkara are right now just two point ahead of us, after they suffered a one nil defeat to Hibernians last weekend. So with a win tomorrow we could jump alone in the first place for the first time this season. Birkirkara’s strong forward Haruna Shola Shodia is still doubtful, as he was carried out of the pitch on last Sunday’s game.
With mostly all of the Valletta players fit for the game, Coach Andre Pause and Coach Mark Miller will be positively rubbing their heads to choose the players for making the first eleven for this encounter. All our players are prepared for this battle and the positiveness that is surrounding the clan, will be an assist to help us achieve the result that we are aiming for.
I am pretty sure that you will be there with us tomorrow giving us all the support as you always did. You are the real 12th player for us and with your support you can make the difference and we will perform better. I urge all our supporters to support our team and not chanting against anyone else. Please keep in mind that nowadays the club will be penalized thousands of Euro for misbehaviour and for other chants.
Good luck to all of us together for a good game that can see us on top of the table.
