Preview: Day 2 vs Hibs Published on: 24-08-2013

The second game of the season is on the verge. Sunday evening Valletta FC will play last year's second placed Hibernians. As usual a game against the team from Paola, will be an interesting encounter. During the last couple of years the rivalry between the two teams and two sets of supporters grew up and made this encounter as one of the most awaited during the season.
Valletta FC are seeking a sporting revenge on the latter’s, after suffering a loss in the last game of last season and enabled Hibernians to play a championship decider against Birkirkara.
With mostly all of the Valletta players fit for the game, coach Mark Miller will be positively rubbing his head to choose the players for the first eleven for this encounter. With only two players on the injuries list, Jonathan Caruana and the other defender Steve Borg which had been out for long and, Edmond Agius which is suspended from the coming two matches after receiving a red card during the last match, Miller has all the remaining squad to choose from.
On the other hand Hibernians will be having all their squad in shape to face the Lillywhites. Defender Rodolfo Suarez will be back for tal-Pagun after a small fracture in his toe during training about two weeks ago.
After seeing a good crowd of our supporters in the last game, I will pretend that although it is still hot, you will be there with us tomorrow giving us all the support as you always did. You are the real 12th player for us and with your support you can make the difference and we will perform better. I urge all our supporters to support our team and not chanting against anyone else.
Please keep in mind that nowadays the club will be penalized thousands of Euro for misbehaviour and for other chants.
Good luck to all of us together for a good season.
WE ARE ONE.
Jerry
