Preview: Day 19 vs Vittoriosa Stars Published on: 18-01-2014

On Saturday Valletta F.C. will take on Vittoriosa Stars at the Hibernians Stadium Corradino at 16:00hrs.
The Stars are a decent side that is not an easy side to beat. Considering some good results they obtained, during our first round encounter in which we suffered and struggled till the dying minutes to win with the minimum score of 2-1. In the beginning of January Vittoriosa did some cosmetic changes to their squad especially with the change of some of their foreigners. In their last issues, they got some good results and managed to change their classification position by being on top of more quoted teams like Rabat,Tarxien and even Qormi.
From our side, after a disappointing performance against Sliema Wanderers last week, our objective from this game is nothing less than a win. Valletta's coach had to prepare the team for this match without two important players. Jason Vandelannoite, who is suffering from a groin injury and Luke Dimech who had just done an intervention in his right knee. The English forward Lateef Elford is in his final recovery days of his hamstring injury which left him out for the past six weeks. As I said before three points from this game and even the coming games are a must if we want to keep our pace with the leaders.
Although I understand that our supporters moral is not on the highest level after the last performance, we all like to see you there for the coming match giving us your support as usual. As I always said YOU are a huge part of us especially when we hear your voice throughout the game! With your support you strengthen the players and make them believe more.
I would like to thank you all for being there and support the team, especially when we are passing through a tough momentum.
Thanks
Jerry
