Preview: Day 18 vs Sliema Wanderers Published on: 11-01-2014

After a good win against Tarxien last week, tomorrow we will meet one of the contenders Sliema Wanderers at Ta Qali, kick-off 14:00hrs.

Sliema are currently in the fourth place, 10 points behind us. As one of the strongest teams this year the blues will surely give their 100% to try closing the gap if they want to be one of this year's challengers.

Our team will welcome back Steve Borg and Ryan Fenech, both of them coming back from a one match suspension that made them loose the last game against the Rainbows. This week we have to do without our defender Luke Dimech as he is ruled out with a cartridge injury. Lateef Elford started training with the group again after a hamstring tare which left him out of the action for the last 4 weeks, but most probably will be left out from the squad as not being 100% fit.
A win tomorrow will surely be a boost for us in terms of classification and will keep us just 2 points away from the first placed B'Kara (probably they will win against Qormi after us tomorrow)

I cannot close this preview without mentioning the tragedy that hit all of us yesterday morning, the passing over of a loyal and a gentle supporter. Clive was one of the first people that I met when I arrived in Valletta and there was not a time that I remember, going to Valletta and not stopping near him for a small chat. On behalf of all the players and technical staff I would like to give the condolences to all his family.
May God grant him the Eternal Life.

Let’s win this game for Clive Brincat (Il-Gojja) and I am sure that he will be so happy up there seeing the team that he adored taking back home the three points.
