Preview: Day 16 vs Naxxar Lions Published on: 20-12-2013

Tomorrow we will play the 16th day of the season. Our opponents will be nothing less than one of the revelation teams of this season "Naxxar Lions".

Naxxar are coming from a 2-0 victory over a more quoted team Tarxien Rainbows, so they should be on some very high spirit. In the first round which was played in September, the Lions of  Naxxar gave our side a 90 minute workout as we came out with full points in hand with a tight win of 1-0.

On our side, we saw our team flying in the last couple of games. Although I say that there is still more positive to come out from our group, no one can deny the positive spell that we are going through right now.

Although we are passing a good time, we still have injured players that we are trying to recover as fast as possible. Our new foreign striker Lateef Elford is recovering from a hamstring tare that already left him out of action for the past 3 games, we will surely welcome back Lateef in our squad for the first game of the year 2014.

Hamza Barry will surely be back in the squad after the Christmas break after being injured and missed the last 7 weeks. Ian Azzoppardi is still recovering from a fractured 5th metatarsal which had ruled him out of the game for the past 3 months. We hope to welcome back Ian by mid January. The Spanish defender Oscar Reyes is not 100% too but our medical team are doing their best to have him on the pitch for this game.

Although he is not injured we have to make it without Aziz Nyang for this game, as he had to leave early due to some family illness back home. Aziz will join the group on the 28th of December.

Last but not least I cannot close this last preview of the year 2013, without mentioning all our supporters that we see behind us during every single game. In the name of all the players and technical staff, I would like to wish you all and all your families a really happy Christmas filled with joy and a happy New Year filled with lots of joy and happiness.

Obviously we cannot give you any presents now, but we will try all our best to give you our present in MAY. My Personal thought is that our present should be double for all of you.
