Angus Buhagiar is unavailable for the Lions but Elhadji Ousseyou Ndaye returns from suspension.
Left-back Joseph Zerafa is suspended for Valletta, Zerafa received his fourth yellow card during last weekend's match against Senglea Athletic.
Valletta are currently second in the table, one point adrift of Balzan. The Citizens were one of the most active clubs during the January transfer market they secured the services of Enmy Pena Beltre from St Andrews while earlier this week they signed 29 year old Argentinian midfielder Miguel Alba.
