Another football season kicks off this weekend; Valletta will meet Mosta on Sunday kick-off 18:30 hrs at the National Stadium.

After competing in the first two rounds of the UEFA Europa League and, winning the Euro Challenge Cup, Valletta will focus now on the BOV Premier League competition.

Valletta have injected fresh blood into their squad with the arrival of six new foreigners.

Denni Dos Santos and Jason Vandelannoite are the only two who remained from 2012-13 season, while the newcomers are Italian keeper Pietro Marino, Gambian players Hamza Barry and Aziz Corr Nyang, Tunisian midfielder Abdelkarim Nafti, Brazilian striker Romulo Antoneli and Nigerian forward Aud-Gustine James Obaje.

Mosta F.C. have signed Brazilian midfielder Christian Fernandez and Bojan Kaljevic, a striker from Montenegro. Bulgarian winger Danail Mitev has also extend his contract with the Blues.

Mosta coach Danilo Doncic was hoping to receive some positive news yesterday evening as club officials were trying to push through the registration of two other new foreign players.

Valletta are looking forward to start this campaign on a full positive way. Mark Miller is on the helm for the second consecutive season. For tomorrow’s match Miller will have to do without three defenders, Jonathan Caruana, Ian Azzopardi and Steve Borg, all players are recovering from an injury. All the other players should be available to play this coming fixture.
