Preview: 5th Match vs Hamrun S. Published on: 23-09-2012

Our next opponents for the fifth game of the season will be the old rivals Hamrun Spartans. The Spartans started their campaign this year with 3 consecutive draws, against Balzan, Floriana and Tarxien respectively. In their last encounter they lost another three points against Mosta with the score of  4-1.

Although the Spartans right now are in the ninth place, this is still considered to be a tough game.
The Hamrun squad is made up of some interesting lads which are a mixture of young and experienced players which together can give a challenge to any squad.

From our side, after a great experience in Tripoli last Wednesday, after a great game we had there against Al-Ahli, we are looking in a positive way for this fixture against the Spartans. We are aware that all of our games are tough as all our rivals will have nothing to lose against us. This Hamrun game is no different from all the others. We will be again facing a team which will defend and close all areas to make us difficult for us to penetrate. We shall be calm throughout the game and I am pretty sure that from time to time we can surely get pass the barricades of our opponents.

For this game Coach Miller has to make it without the injured Brazilian central defender Ricardo Rocha Filho. Obviously, our coach can turn on the bench and find valid players to replace the injured and the suspended ones. With a win from this game we will consolidate our first place and look forward for next week's direct encounter against Hibs.

Last but not least, you our shadow supporters, you that are always there behind us, we need to hear your chants as usual. The players, staff and committee are doing their best to see you all happy, and I know that you always do your best to give us your support which for us is the extra push to penetrate all barricades done by our opponents on the pitch and win the games for us and for yourselves too.
Thanks for your loyal support.

Jerry.
