Preview: 27th Match vs Hibernians Published on: 04-04-2012

Three points clear at the top, we look on course to retain the title if we manage to beat second in the league Hibernians. Although nothing will be closed even if we manage to bring home with us these precious three points. In this game, Valletta will be looking to banish the memories of that setback as we go head to head for the third time this season.

Jesmond Zerafa, the Players, technical staff and the committee altogether with the supporters know that this game is very important and crucial so to continue leading the table or even more increase the gap from three to six points. It’s an important match but even if we win, the title issue will not be closed, and this should be an issue for all of us to stay put and continue backing the team till the very end.

“We were very disappointed when we lost against Hibs and we will not make that happen again as our pain was too big. Today our players know that that only loss happened just once and will never repeat itself. The players are well-prepared and after a good win last Saturday against eternal rivals Floriana everyone is hungry to play another final against the well organized title challengers Hibernians again.

“Hibernians have a strong squad but, we all have great faith in our players as they are the best on the island and they are eager to win more. In football it is how you perform on the day that matters most, but we are all confident and all the players are very enthusiastic about this coming fixture. Valletta-Hibs has assumed an extra edge in the last few years because of the growing rivalry between the two sets of fans.
We are expecting a very high attendance at the stadium so we will do our best to play good football and make our supporters happy.”

Hibernians will be without suspended by video evidence Jackson Lima Sequira, which was caught by cameras doing a bad gesture to the assistant referee in the game against B'Kara, which the latter won for one goal to nil. On the other side we will be without our central defender Steve Borg who will miss the game due to suspension for collecting his fourth yellow card in the dying minutes against Floriana last Saturday. Although we have this suspension we are sure that who is going to take Steve's place will be giving more than the maximum for all of us and the team.

Last but not least you.....Our beloved supporters. You will be there behind us giving the full support to all the team as you always did. Keep in your mind that while you are supporting the best team on the island, you are the best support that every one envy to have. I am sure that when we go out of that tunnel and look at you, this fill all of us with turbo charge to play and win for the only white Army in Malta.
