Preview: 26th Match vs Floriana Published on: 29-03-2012

Two games from the end, who else better to face other than eternal rivals Floriana in a game where Valletta will have to ensure a three point result! Floriana will have no intentions of making this easy. Their objectives will be two fold that of collecting at least one point from this match and simultaneously striving to give the new Champions their second defeat this season’. The Greens will have two important players missing for this game. Owen Bugeja is ruled out with a hamstring injury, whileChristian Caruana collected a red card in Floriana's last game against Balzan. All the other players will be available for coach Joe Brincat. A probable formation will see Jansen in goal, Pisani,Okoto, Licari and Micallef forming the rearguard, Mintoff, Doffo, Borg, Clyde Borg and Paris in midfield with Ivan Woods and Sodje up front.

Floriana are with remote chance to win the league, but they will still give this match utmost importance in an attempt to have the edge over Birkirkara before meeting the latter’s in 15 days time, and hence a guaranteed place in Europe.

On the other hand, Valletta will have to do without Striker Alfred Effiong who received his marching five minutes from time against Birkirkara two weeks ago. Other than that, we are expected to welcome back National team captain Micheal Mifsud who was injured and missing in the last two matches. Edmond Agius and Roderick Briffa will also mark their return after a one match ban. The boys are strongly driving on fifth gear and are just desperate to beat Floriana for the third time this season to give our supporters a reason to celebrate and reach the climax for our next encounter against the second placed Hibernians FC.

See you all at Ta Qali on Saturday at 3pm.The players are determined to give you all a reason to celebrate. Winning the League is phenomenal. Staying unbeaten from Floriana is simply adorable. Beating Floriana is not only superb but the cherry on the cake as we all know our rivalry.

My last word of thanks as usual will go to all of you who are always behind us, our Ultras and all who supports Valletta FC. Now is the time to continue backing our team, committee and most of all our beloved president, as in a month's time we will be knowing our destiny, which at all costs must be nothing less than Champions for the 21st time in Valletta's history.
