Preview: 26th Match vs Birkirkara Published on: 16-03-2013

After losing five points in their last two outings, Valletta hope to bounce back with a win in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme on Sunday at the National Stadium. During their last two match, the Citizens were held in a goalless draw against Sliema Wanderers and lost 2-3 to Tarxien R. last Tuesday. Valletta are now second on 27 points, one behind Birkirkara.
Midfielder William Barbosa returnd for the Citizens after serving a one-match suspension. Defender Jonathan Caruana could also be available after illness kept him out of the Tarxien game but defender Luke Dimech is doubtful.
Tomorrow’s match is crucial; if Birkirkara win the three points they will increase their lead at the top of the table with four points. The Stripe’s coach Paul Zammit should have all squad at his disposal.
During the two matches played earlier this season, the two teams shared the spoils in a 1-1 result on their first game while Valletta won the second encounter 1-0.
