Preview: 23rd Match vs Balzan Y. Published on: 10-03-2012

After winning our both encounters against Balzan Y. in the first two rounds with the identical score of two nil, now we face them in the first game of the second phase. This game will be the first from a 10 finals that we have to play till the end, which may lead us to our target of winning our 21st Championship.

Balzan Y. has their moral up high as for their first time and after just one year, they made it with the first six, so for them the target that they started with is in their hands. As we saw from the first game that we played against them, they are not a team that one can beat easily as they play good defensive football. They even have some key players that one needs to keep an eye on them and do not give them space to play because they can create problems to the opponent.

From our side, this week we have to make it without two important players as the first one Mady Panentiguiri our right defender is ruled out due to an ankle injury that he suffered last week against Floriana and second Alfred Effiong will be out from the squad after collecting his fourth yellow card in last week's derby. All other players are available for coach Jesmond Zerafa, although Micheal Mifsud, Jonathan Caruana and Ousseni Zongo are not in the 100% form due to small knocks they collected in our last encounter. Above all these small injuries that are surrounding our squad at the moment, in my point of view this is a must win game so we can keep our rivals behind us.

From our supporters side (we are very lucky to have them) we will be expecting you to be there after us once again. I know that we disappointed you in our last game against Florian, but football is like that you never know what will happen on the day. I know that you are going to be there backing us as you do always. I would like to thank you for your backing and I promise you that we are going to do all our best to make you happy and see you all celebrating at the end.

Thank you for your support.
