Preview: 22nd Match vs Floriana Published on: 12-02-2013

Valletta have the perfect opportunity to regain the top spot when on Wednesday evening they will face rivals Floriana. The Citizens will be aiming for the three points following a 1-1 result against Balzan Youths during their last outing.
Valletta were leading the BOV Premier League last week but following a protest by Hibernians against the result of the clash with Floriana over the ineligibility of Harry Agombar. The Paolities were awarded the three points and moved to the top of the table.
Hibernians are currently leaders with 45 points, while Valletta are second with 43 points, Floriana are currently 9th with 24 points. Hibernians shared the spoils in a goal-less result against neighbours Tarxien Rainbows on Monday.
However, tomorrow's clash will definitely not be an easy one for the Citizens, despite the fact that Floriana will play the third round of the Premier League in the Relegation Pool.
Floriana are coming from a series of negative results, they won the last match against Hibernians but lost the three points and were held in a draw against Rabat, Melita and Qormi. The Greens cannot afford to drop more points in order to maintain their Premier League status. Their last win was on 10 December when they defeated Balzan Youths with a 3-1 score.
Coach Mark Miller welcomes back Denni Dos Santos, the Brazilian midfielder returns after serving a three match suspension. Steve Borg is missing for the Lily Whites, the towering defender is recovering from an injury. The Greens coach shall have all players at his disposal.
The match will be played at the National Stadium kick off 20:00hrs.
