Preview: 1st Match vs Tarxien R Published on: 17-08-2012

Another football season kicks off on Saturday 18th August, we will be playing our first game next Sunday against Tarxien Rainbows at Ta-Qali Stadium kick-off 20:30.

After competing in the first two rounds of the Champions League and, winning the first honor of the season ( The Super Cup final), against Hibernians, now our focus will be on the Premier league competition.

Our first appointment will be against Tarxien Rainbows. Although Tarxien are a modest side, they always gave us a decent game in the last couple of years. Tarxien Rainbows are now driven by the Serbian coach Danilo Doncic and had strengthened their squad with some talented players which will be mixed with other experienced players such as Daniel Mariano Bueno, Carlo Mamo and Orosco Anonam.

On the other side, Valletta are looking forward to start this campaign on a full positive way. Although our coach Mark Miller, who now is on the helm of the current champions for the last two months, has to make it without two important players for this game. These are Jonathan Caruana, who is still recovering from an injury received against Partizan Belgrade on the away match and Denni Dos Santos who is still out of action after the same game against the Serbians. All the other players should be available to play this coming fixture. Our latest signing Shaun Bajada will make his official debut in the same game.

Last but not least, you our Lion hearth supporters, you are always there behind us, you give us the last breath to give the 100% and never stop chanting for our players.

I will promise you all,  that this year yet again we are going to do all our best to see you happy again and get closer to the number 25.
