Valletta will kick off their U*Bet FA Trophy commitments tomorrow against Hamrun Spartans, kick-off 16:00hrs at the National Stadium.
During the past two season Valletta missed the FA Trophy, in the 2011 final the Citizens lost the final 1-0 to rivals Floriana and last season they were surprisingly beaten 4-3 by Qormi in a thrilling semi-final.
Having failed to win in their last five outings, the Citizens are desperate for a victory tomorrow but they are also aware that an early elimination from the FA Trophy would deepen their crisis.
Ħamrun Spartans are coming from four straight defeats in the league against Floriana, Balzan Y., Hibernians and Sliema Wanderers.
The two teams last faced each other during the U*Bet FA Trophy 2010 semi final, Valletta reached the final by eliminating the Spartans 6-5 on penalties.
In their last meeting between the two teams during the BOV Premier League, Valletta registered an impressive win with an 8-2 scoreline. The Spartans will surely try to revenge over the Whites tomorrow in the Trophy.
