Preview U Bet FA Trophy Valletta vs Mosta Published on: 25-02-2012

Leaders Valletta currently six points clear from Hibernians in the BOV Premier League start as favourites to make it a sixth successive semi-final appearance in the FA Trophy.

This week's and next encounter is in the quarter final of the U*Bet FA Trophy, a cup tie which will take us to play against newly promoted Mosta F.C. The last time that Valletta met Mosta was last year on the 10th December.

The Citizens managed to grab the three points thanks to a goal on the 4th minute by Ousseni Zongo. During their last match of the U*Bet FA Valletta eliminated Sliema Wanderers from this competition. Sliema Wanderers scored two goals in the first fifteen minutes of the match but Zerafa’s men scored five goals in the second half following a sensational comeback.

There will not be changes in the formation from the Citizens’ last encounter against Balzan Youths. Coach Jesmond Zerafa should have all players at his disposal. Mosta will certainly try to give a great challenge given the bright performances produced by the team under the guidance of coach Steve D’Amato.
Mosta who eliminated Xewkija Tigers 3-1 in the fourth round, have been one of the most consistent sides this year. Defender Yannick Ossok is suspended while Federico Tisbi, Terrence Vella and Obinna Obie-fule are doubtful after skipping training because of flu this week.
