Preview Day 27: Valletta vs Pembroke Published on: 12-03-2016

Valletta are bracing themselves for a tricky test when they take on a Pembroke side who have caused the leaders plenty of problems this season.

After suffering a 2-0 defeat in the first round, Valletta had to battle hard to grind out a 3-2 win over Pembroke in the second round.

Coach Paul Zammit is sure to be without winger Umeh Calistus, who must serve a one-match ban, but flank players Romeo Romau and Ian Azzopardi could be in line for a recall after recovering from injuries.

Pembroke coach Winston Muscat has lost defender Patmore Shereni for the rest of the season after the towering centre-back suffered a cruciate knee injury.

Muscat is also concerned about the fitness of winger Ariel Laudisi who is trying to shake off a muscle problem.

Previous results: Valletta vs Pembroke 0-2, 3-2.
