Preview BOV Super Cup - Valletta vs Hibernians Published on: 01-08-2012

Champions Valletta and runners up of last season Hibernians will be facing each other on Friday in the Super Cup final at the National Stadium Ta’ Qali at 20:00hrs. After their participation in the European competitions both teams are focused on the preparations for the start of the BOV Premier League. These two teams already met each other in the Euro Challenge Cup, Hibernians won the game with the minimum score of 1-0.

Our Coach Mark Miller, will have to do without defender Jonathan Caruana, and forward Denni Dos Santos. Both Caruana and Denni are recovering from injuries they received during the away leg against Partizan Belgrade. Denni  is expected to start training regularly next week after recovering from a knee injury. Jonathan Caruana is receiving a special training program in order to determine if the latter requires further medical treatment.

Currently, our club is already settled with the foreign players, Namely Brazilian defender Ricardo Rocha which we already saw him for the last 4 games, Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Da Silva which he played against Partizan in the home and away leg and forward Leandro Almeida who had been training with us for the past 3 weeks. Obviously we have the other 2 foreigners William Barbosa who had a stunning season last year and the well known machine Denni Dos Santos. Regarding local players we welcomed back Dyson Falzon, Ryan Fenech, Cleaven Frendo and Kurt Maxi Magro. This year in post we will be having goalkeepers Manuel Bartolo and Yenz Cini.
