After a short break due to the U*Bet FA Trophy matches, the BOV Premier League resumes this weekend, leaders Valletta will meet Sliema Wanderers again following last week’s encounter.

The Citizens received a shock during the first half of the last Saturday’s match with Daniel Mitev scoring twice during the first half of the match. Mitev unleashed a swerving shot from a free-kick that squeezed between Andrew Hogg and his near post. Sliema doubled the score with another perfect free-kick by Mitev in the 16th minute.

In the second half the Lilywhites fought back and scored five goals, The scorers were Edmond Agius, Ousseni Zongo twice, a penalty by Michael Mifsud and a goal in the last minutes of the match by Nigerian Alfred Effiong.

This week Valletta gave the go ahead to three players to move with other clubs on loan till the end of the season. On Monday Dyson Falzon was transferred with Mosta FC, Jamie Pace joined Balzan Youths while Brazilian defender Ramon Dos Santos joined Vittoriosa Stars on Thursday.

The international certificates for Argentine midfielder Nahuel Pulitano Jimenez and Slovenian striker Miha Robic arrived on Wednesday and the two players can make their debut during tomorrow’s match against Sliema Wanderers. Eighteen year old Miha Robic  made his debut with the Valletta minors yesterday and scored a hat trick.

Coach Danilo Donic will have to do without Daniel Mitev and defender Steve Bezzina, both players are suspended. Sliema welcome back midfielder Roderick Bajada.
