Goalkeeper Nicky Vella joined newly promoted Pieta' Hotspurs on loan.
A product of San Gwann Nursery, Nicky Vella joined Valletta in season 2008-09. During season 2009 Nicky guarded the post during all the matches in the National League 100 Anniversary, winning this honour in the final against Floriana (3-1).
After spending three years with Valletta, Nicky joined Tarxien Rainbows in season 2011.
Vella rejoined Valletta F.C. in May 2014, he signed a five-year deal.
