Valletta reached an agreement with Msida St Joseph over the transfer of goalkeeper Manuel Bartolo. Defender Steve Bezzina joined Msida St Joseph as part of the deal. Steve signed a five year contract with Mosta FC and will make way for Manuel Bartolo to join the Citizens from Msida St Joseph.Steve Bezzina a Valletta product, was on loan for the last two consecutive seasons with Sliema Wanderers.
Valletta has been showing interest in Bartolo since the end of the Premier league. A product of San Gwann FC, Manuel made his debut in the Premier League with Msida St Joseph on 4th March 2006, in a match against Birkirkara (0-5). In season 2010/11, Bartolo joined Birkirkara FC on loan till the end of the season. During the last season Bartolo was on loan with Floriana FC. Manuel played a total of 82 matches in the Premier League. Manuel Bartolo is expected to sign a contract next week.
