European Week of Sport 7-13 September 2015 Published on: 01-09-2015

ECA is calling on its member clubs to engage actively in a communications campaign linked to the European Week of Sport.
Alongside a number of other leading sports organisations, ECA has agreed to offer its backing and full support to the 1st ever European Week of Sport. This new initiative of the European Union aims at promoting sport and physical activity across Europe. This campaign will look at encouraging Europeans to #BeActive throughout the Week of 7-13 September 2015 and remain so all year long.
As part of our agreement, ECA has committed to raise awareness about the Week through its communication platforms and to encourage its member clubs to do likewise with the aim of reaching out to their millions of fans. The clubs’ support and involvement can range from a news article on the club
website to a simple tweet on Twitter or post on Facebook. Any support your club can offer will be beneficial to the overall campaign.
In order to facilitate participation of our member clubs, we have developed a communications toolkit, which includes detailed information about the Week and provides examples on how your club can support the cause. Amongst others, it includes a variety of custom-made graphical elements, a factsheet, a tweet sheet, etc.
The full ECA Communications Toolkit can be downloaded by clicking on following link: http://we.tl/ljD4g3IyE3
Please also find attached PDF-document which provides you with more detailed explanation about the European Week of Sport including background relating to the initiative and the ECA Communications Toolkit.
We strongly encourage every ECA Member Club to participate and contribute to this initiative. Not only is it a great campaign which deserves the necessary attention, but ECA’s and the clubs’ active participation
will be beneficial to the long-term relationship our organisation has with the European Union.
