Following a four-year ban from football received on 26 September 2017, it seems that the international defender is expected to return in the coming weeks following a year suspension.
Undoubtedly this is a very positive news both for champions Valletta FC, as well as the Maltese national team as Caruana was a regular player with both Valletta and as also with the Maltese national team.
The 32-year-old was provisionally suspended by the Malta Football Association after he returned a positive sample during an out-of-competition test conducted by the National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO) back in March 2017.
