Bogdanovic rescinds Valletta FC contract Published on: 02-05-2013

Daniel Bogdanovic’s disappointing stint with Valletta FC has come to a premature end after the Malta forward terminated his contract with the outgoing champions by mutual agreement.
Bogdanovic joined Valletta in January after starting the season with Mosta. At the time, the signing of a skillful and experienced forward like Bogdanovic was hailed as a coup by Valletta but injuries put paid to his hopes of building on a positive start to his second spell with the Citizens.
When he did return, Bogdanovic struggled to show his best and was unable to hold down a regular place in the team.
His departure from Valletta ends a frustrating season for Bogdanovic who has also missed Malta’s last two World Cup qualifiers with an abdominal muscle strain.
The 33-year-old is now expected to step up his fitness programme in the next few weeks to boost his chances of starting pre-season in the best physical condition.
Bogdanovic, who was on the books of Sheffield United before joining Mosta last summer, is targeting a return to English football next season.
