Roderick Briffa joins Valletta FC Published on: 16-01-2009

Valletta FC secured the service of Malta midfielder Roderick Briffa. Club president Mr. Victor Sciriha confirmed with the club’s official website that Briffa has agreed a five-year contract with the Champions.

Roderick Briffa (27) started his career with Birkirkara FC, in season 2001-2002 he joined Pieta Hotspurs on loan and during the summer of 2007 Roderick joined Sliema W. During discussions between the two clubs, Sliema W expressed their interest in signing striker Ian Zammit on loan until the end of the season but the Citizens coach Paul Zammit reassured that Ian Zammit is still in his plans.

In fact striker Ian Zammit will be signing a new few year deal with the Citizens at the end of the week.
Roderick Briffa is expected to make his debut together with newly signed Brazilian Paulo Massaro against Tarxien next Sunday. Massaro’s clearance arrived earlier this week and the club already filed his registration at the MFA headquarters.
