Reuben Debono appointed as goalkeepers' coach

A Product of Naxxar Lions, Reuben started his career in the Premier Division with Naxxar Lions in season 1994. After making 97 appearances with the Lions, Debono joined Sliema Wanderers in season 2000-01. With the blues Reuben had a short spell, taking part only in 4 matches.
In season 2001 Debono joined Birkirkara FC. During his first season he was an understudy of serbian goalkeeper Robert Savic. Debono guarded the Stripes posts in the pre-season matches, including the UEFA Cup ties with M. Zaporizhzhya. He stayed with the Stripes till the end of season 2002 making a total of 10 appearances. Reuben Debono also trained for four years with the National squad under the guidance of Kosanovic and Josef Ilic.
In January 2003, Reuben Debono joined Marsaxlokk FC. With the Blues he won the player of the month several times and also the Championship in season 2006-07.
At the end of season 2009-2010, Reuben left Marsaxlokk after making a total of 103 appearances.
