Preview Euro Challenge Cup - Valletta vs Sliema W.
Valletta and Sliema Wanderers met tomorrow in the final match of the 2010 Euro Challenge Cup at the Centenary Stadium, kick-off 18:15hrs.The Citizens are coming from a comfortable 3-0 win against arch rivals Birkirkara. Captain Gilbert Agius had to be substituted after suffering an injury early in the first half, he will also miss tomorrow’s encounter against the Blues.
Brazilian striker Hercules Ottoni made his debut for the Citizens and opened the score on the 26th minute while defender Ramon Dos Santos made his first appearance as a central defender alongside Steve Borg.
Jamie Pace and defender Kenneth Scicluna are still sidelined with injuries and will not be available for tomorrow’s match. Jesmond Zerafa might also include Nigerian Omonigho Temile, brother of star player Frank Temile. Omingho arrived earlier today and was also present for the training session held by coach Zerafa.
For Sliema this will be the second outing of the season, on Monday they won the opening match of the euro Cup, 3-1 against Birkirkra. Mark Marlow, the Blues coach gave starting role to five new foreigners during their first match on Monday. Clayton Failla, Mark Scerri and Ivan Woods are unavailable, they are recovering from injuries.
