Preview Day 25 Valletta vs Marsaxlokk

In the second match On Sunday, Valletta will face Marsaxlokk. Team Manager Jesmond Zammit gave Valletta FC.net these comments.' At long last.... here comes the much awaited match........ The moment that everybody has been waiting for....... the day that seemed so far off when the season took off in May 2010. Marsaxlokk will be our next opponents tomorrow in a match that will see both teams battling it out for ninety minutes for two different objectives. Marsaxlokk will be looking for points from this encounter in an attempt to secure a place in Europe, whilst Valletta's goal is to obtain at least one point which would ensure that the Cup will be hoisted and driven all the way down Republic Street on the 7th May.............Celebrations Day.'

'Tomorrow will not offer an easy task for the Lilywhites. I have always, personally insisted that Marsaxlokk are a very compact and consistent side, very solid in all Departments. A typical formation will see Reuben Gauci in goal, Licari, Galabov, Yanchev and Mamo in defense, Raimy, Sciberras, Templeman and Deanov in midfield with Effiong and Darmanin up front. As always the Blues will definitely adopt a cautious approach taking their chances through the agility and power of Effiong and Deanov and the opportunism of Ryan Darmanin. It will be a very difficult hurdle to override as is evident from this season's results so far , i.e. 2 - 0, 0 -0 and 1 - 1.'

'On the other side, this will be the first time so far this season that Valletta will have all their players fully available, and that includes Kenneth Scicluna, who is now fully recovered and Ian Zammit who has missed the last two matches due to muscular injury. And what a better match could it be to have them all at our disposal. Our boys have been waiting and are definitely ready for this match. They want to close the title issue and put an end to this dilemma which has been dragging over their backs for the past two years. Valletta's starting eleven should not differ much from our recent outings. Our gladiators are ready to bring at least that one long awaited point to make our beloved supporters so very happy tomorrow.'

'A deserved word of gratitude goes to The President and Committee, who have all worked so hard to make this dream come true. They deserve to be proud tomorrow. This Club should be extremely proud to have these gentlemen at the helm of the Club under the guidance of Mr Victor Sciriha and his family. Thank you all so much on behalf of the players, the technical staff and their families. Our satisfaction is fulfilled in seeing the smiles on your faces. Nothing gives us more pleasure than seeing you all feel proud of what we all have done together.'

'Last but definitely not least....... our twelfth man on the pitch...... all our supporters, also our fans from Gozo..... Make the best out of tomorrow and the month to follow. This is all your time. You deserve it so much. We have strived so hard to make this happen weeks before to give you all the desired time to celebrate and feel proud of your Club.  The much awaited second star will be on the Club's emblem as of next season. Much more to follow.......... we will aim higher to secure the F A Trophy and why not...... beating Hibernians's record of 37 unbeaten league matches is also another beautiful target to aim for. We have 29 so far and 8 to go. It will be so nice to add this acquisition to the Club's records. Where else should this belong if not the CITY? See you all at Ta' Qali tomorrow. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS.'
