Championship Pool Day 23: Valletta vs Hibernians
Valletta face a difficult task tomorrow as they take on Premier league leaders Hibernians tomorrow at 19:00hrs. The Citizens returned to winning ways on their last match beating Marsaxlokk 1-0. Valletta lie second in the BOV Premier league table with 27 points, six less than leaders Hibernians. This match is a do-or-die match for Valletta in their challenge to retain the title.
Last Monday Hibernians won another three points after eliminating Birkirkara 2-0. Valletta welcome back Roderick Briffa, Ian Zammit and goal keeper Andrew Hogg for tomorrow’s match. Midfielder Jamie Pace is missing through suspension while Stefan Giglio and Cleavon Frendo are both missing through injury. Hibernians coach Mark Miller cannot field in his best formation for tomorrow’s match, defender Adrian Pulis is missing through injury.
During the last match played between the two teams in the Premier League first phase, Valletta won the three points 2-0.
