Championship Pool Day 23: Valletta vs Birkirkara.
Valletta FC end the first round of the Championship Pool with a difficult match against arch-rivals Birkirkara. Surely Valletta will be hoping for a victory in order to claim the top spot.
Tomorrow’s match will be the second on the programme, with the Derby of the South between Hibernians and Tarxien R. preceding.Tomorrow's match will surely be a difficult task for the Lilywhites, facing leaders B'Kara. The Stripes are coming from a 3-3 result against Tarxien R. On the other hand, Valletta eliminated Tarxien R. last Wednesday in the semi-finals of the National League 100 Anniversary Cup.
All players are expected to be available for Ton Caanen’s selection. Caanen is expected to adjust his formation from Wednesday's semi-final, goalkeeper Andrew Hogg, midfielder Jamie Pace and striker Doding Priso poised for a first-team recall. On their part, B'Kara are in full complement having no absentees within their squad.
As usual, a Valletta-B'Kara match is expected to be a highly tense and contested match, considering the big sporting rivalry that exists between both sets of supporters.
