Championship Pool Day 22: Valletta vs Qormi.
Valletta meet Qormi tomorrow at the National Stadium, Kick-off 16:00hrs. The Citizens lost three important points last Saturday and currently lay second in the Premier League standings with 26 points, two less than leaders Birkirkara.
Newly signed Michael Mifsud is expected to make his debut tomorrow, early this week the MFA Executive Committee gave the go-ahead to the player. Coach Ton Caanen welcomes back defender Steve Borg and striker Njongo Priso, both players return from suspension. Kenneth Scicluna is missing for tomorrow’s match after receiving marching orders by the referee during the match against Sliema Wanderers.
After suffering three consecutive defeats, Qormi returned to winning ways during their last outing; they beat Tarxien R. 2-0. The yellows are currently third with 21 points.
Roderick Sammut is missing for Qormi after collecting his fourth yellow card during the last match, coach Jesmond Zerafa welcomes back Jonathan Bondin and Matthew Bartolo, both players return from suspension.
