Championship Pool Day 21: Valletta vs Floriana
The BOV Premier league resumes tomorrow with more matches from the Championship and Relegation pool. In the second match of tomorrow’s programme Valletta meet arch rivals Floriana.
Valletta lost three points against Birkirkara on their last outing and are currently second with 23 points. Floriana are coming from a series of negative results and are currently fifth with 11 points. The Greens lost their last match against Hibernians 1-4. Last month Floriana lost the services of Coach Antonio Viera. The Floriana FC committee decided to part ways with the Brazilian coach following the team’s poor performance against Hibernians. Assistant coach Tony Alamango will be responsible for the squad till the end of the season.
Valletta will have to do without Cleavon Frendo and Stefan Giglio both players are recovering from injuries. Floriana will have to do without the services of goal-keeper Stefan Suessner, the German goal-keeper is recovering from an injury.
During the last match played between the two teams, Valletta won the three points 1-0.
