Championship Pool Day 19: Valletta vs Tarxien R.
Valletta face Tarxien R. in their first commitment in the Championship Pool (Kick-off 16:00hrs Hibs Ground). The team led by Dutch coach Ton Caanen starts the Championship Pool with level points as Birkirkara. The Citizens are coming from two positive results (4-0) against Hamrun S. and (6-0) against Dingli S.
Tarxien are coming from a series of positive results and have also booked a place in the semi-finals of the National League 100 Anniversary Cup and the quarter-finals of the UBet FA Trophy. Tarxien R. remain the only side in the Premier division not to lose against Valletta so far this season.
Valletta will have to do without the suspended Njongo Priso, Cleavon Frendo is also missing through injury. Captain Gilbert Agius and striker Terence Scerri return for the Citizens after serving a one-match suspension.
