Day 18: Valletta vs Hamrun S.


Valletta meet eighties rivals Hamrun Spartans tomorrow at 19:30hrs at the National Stadium. Tomorrow’s match will be the final meeting of these two teams after Hamrun Spartans failed to secure a place in the Championship Pool.
Valletta are coming from a 1-0 result against arch rivals Floriana and are second in the BOV Premier League table. The Citizens will be aiming at obtaining the three which will put one point less than leaders Hibernians.
Hamrun Spartans have 17 points and are eight in the BOV Premier League table. The Spartans are coming from two positive results against Msida SJ (1-0) and Qormi (4-1) respectively.
Hamrun Spartans will have to do without Mark Anthony Bonnici, who is recovering from an ankle injury. Valletta should welcome back Njongo Priso, The Cameroon striker returns after serving a one-match suspension. Midfielder Edmond Agius is missing for the Citizens for tomorrow’s match through suspension, Sebastian Monesterolo is also unavailable for tomorrow’s match, Seba is still recovering from an injury.
In the last league match played between the two teams last November, Valletta won the three points 4-0; the scorers were Luke Dimech, Njongo Priso (penalty), Ian Zammit and Jonathan Bondin.
