Day 17: Valletta vs Hamrun S.
Valletta and Hamrun S. will face each other in an interesting match tomorrow at 16:00hrs at the National Stadium.
Both teams failed to acquire full points from their last matches. Hamrun S. lost three important points against neighbors Qormi, while Valletta were held in another draw against Tarxien R. (2-2).
Valletta are currently at the top of the BOV premier league with 34 points while the Spartans are seventh with 20 points. The Citizens hope to obtain full points from the last two matches of the second round in order to remain at the top at the beginning of the Championship pool.
During the last match Tarxien opened the score in the second minute of the match, the Citizens found it difficult to penetrate an organized defense and managed to score two goals but could not succeed in controlling their opponents and had to satisfy with only a point.
Coach Steve Damato will have to do without Roderick Fenech, Rupert Mangion and Ian Zammit while Valletta will have defender Kenneth Scicluna missing through suspension.
During the last match between the two teams played in November, Valletta obtained the three points (3-2).
