Day 15: Valletta vs Hibernians.
The most anticipated game from this weekend’s BOV Premier League certainly is that between Hibernians and Valletta.
These two teams are amongst the challengers for the title when after 14 matches, Valletta are in first place with 30 points while Hibernians are fourth with 25 points.
Valletta clinched their second consecutive victory 1-0 against Qormi last week thanks to a goal by Terence Scerri. The former Hibernians striker is the hero of the Citizens when it was thanks to his goal that the City won the three points in the last two games. Another key City player who joined Valletta during the summer transfer market is without doubt the Maltese international midfielder Kevin Sammut. Sammut immediately integrated himself in tactical schemes of Caanen and today certainly is regarded as fundamental for the team. Coach Ton Caanen will have full squad at his disposal for tomorrow’s match, the City’s captain Gilbert Agius returns after serving a two match suspension.
Hibernians are coming from a dramatic 2-2 against Birkirkara. The Paolities hero was defender Adrian Pulis who scored both goals against the Stripes. The team led by Mark Miller welcomes back to Etienne Barbara, who served a one match suspension against Birkirkara. Andrew Cohen should also be available for tomorrow’s match after skipping the match against the Stripes.
During the last match played between the two teams, Hibernians won the three points 1-0.
