Day 14: Valletta vs Qormi.
Valletta meet joint-leaders Qormi tomorrow in a delicate encounter at the National Stadium kick off 15:00hrs. Earlier this week the MFA rescheduled this match and decided to hold only one match on Saturday.
Qormi are coming from a series of four positive results. Unfortunately their last defeat was on December against Birkirkara (2-5). Qormi lost their first points this season last October against Valletta (0-2), Kevin Sammut and Jamie pace scored for the Citizens.
Brazilian striker Camilo Da Silva is Qormi’s top scorer, already scoring seventeen goals. Camilo and Alfred Effiong form a perfect scoring duo already scoring 24 goals in the BOV Premier League. Qormi failed to regain the top spot during the last match; they were held in a 2-2 result against Hibernians and joined the top spot with Birkirkara.
Valletta will have to do without captain Gilbert Agius, the City’s captain is serving his second match suspension after receiving a red card in the match against Sliema W. Latest signing Declan O’Brien returns with the Citizens after skipping the match against Msida SJ. Jordi Cruyff is also unavailable; the Dutch midfielder is recovering from an injury.
