Day 11: Valletta vs Floriana
The BOV Championship Pool resumes tomorrow with more matches. Valletta meet arch rivals Floriana at 16:00hrs.
Valletta are currently second with 21 points, one point less than leaders Qormi. Floriana are currently fifth in the BOV Premier League table. During their last match the Greens received a shocking defeat against Qormi 6-2.
During the last match Valletta shared the spoils with Birkirkara 1-1. Coach Ton Caanen will have to do without midfielder Jordi Cruyff for tomorrow's match. The dutch midfielder received his fourth yellow card in the dying minutes of the match against Birkirkara. Ian Zammit is also missing through injury.
Floriana FC are in talks with Zoran Popovic after Irish coach Roddy Collins quit the club. The Greens are under the guidance of Orosco Anonam. Defender Julian Briffa and Pablo Doffo are both suspended after both players collected their fourth yellow card during their last match. Defender Owen Bugeja and goalkeeper Bernard Paris are also missing through injury. Christian Caruana, Christian Cassar, Luke Agius and Sunday Eboh are also sidelined with injuries.
During the last match played between the two teams, Valletta won the Derby 6-0.
