Gozo Cup: Quadrangular Tournament in Gozo Published on: 09-02-2010
During a press conference held yesterday, Gozo Football Association announced a quadrangular tournament called the Gozo Cup. This tournament is going to be played at the Gozo Stadium and Sannat Ground.
Valletta , Hibernians and Birkirkara will be taking part in this tournament between Friday 19th and Sunday 21st February. Gozo XI will be the fourth team taking part in this tournament. There will be two semi-finals, a final and a play-off for the third place.
Parliamentary Secretary Chris Said, said that this tournament will continue to strengthen sports tourism in Gozo and said that hopefully this tournament will be an annual event organized by the Gozo Football Association.
All those buying tickets for the tournament from the Gozo Channel offices in Cirkewwa will be getting a free ferry ticket to travel to Gozo.
Valletta FC is going to be managed by Kevin Gauci and the Valletta FC squad will contain a mix of Youths and First Team Players.
