This cause will be launched at the beginning of the World Cup 2010.
What this action is:
This simply a virtual petition. If enough people sign up (30’000’000 in total), then the governments will release enough funds so that the 72 million children that don’t have access to education will be able to go to school.
The Co-Founder and Global Co-Chair of 1GOAL is Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan. 1GOAL is seizing the power of football to ensure that education for all is a lasting impact of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
History:
In 2000, 164 world governments came together to create the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. Two of the eight goals involve ending poverty through providing education for all. They promised to make sure there was enough money and that the policies were in place to make it a reality.
