Europa League Second Round First Leg
The Valletta FC squad travel today to Ireland ahead on Thursday’s encounter against St. Patrick’s. A number of Valletta FC supporters are also travelling to Ireland to support their beloved team.
The Citizens became the first Maltese team to make it through to the second qualifying round of the Europa League last Thursday winning 5-2 on aggregate against Keflavik FC from Iceland. Citizen’s Ton Caanen and team manager Nicky Saliba travelled to Ireland last Friday in order to take a close look at the Irish team.
Valletta ’s coach Ton Caaanen will be leading the same squad which overwhelmed Keflavik last week 5-2 on aggregate. The Citizens will play the first leg of the second round of the Europa League on Thursday at Richmond Park.
Coach Ton Caanen is confident that the Lilly Whites will be able to reproduce the same form as the one that eliminated Keflavik.
Later on this month Valletta intend to conduct a pre-season training camp in the Netherlands.
