Annual General meeting 2015 report Published on: 07-06-2015

Valletta FC held its Annual General Meeting for season 2014-15 at St Albert, Valletta earlier this morning.
Club General Secretary Joe Attard opened the meeting by welcoming the club members for this annual club event. This was followed by the reading of the minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting; minutes were then approved by the Club's members.
The administrative report for Season 2014-15 was also presented by the General Secretary, Joe Attard. The report mentioned that the club ended the season as runners up in the BOV Premier League and was eliminated during the semi final of the FA Trophy. The Club has succeeded in obtaining the UEFA Licence for the next season. Joe Attard said that the sponsorship by Insignia has ended and the club has received a letter from Insignia’s CEO together with invoice covering the expenses of the foreign players which were assigned by Insignia in January 2014. The club is still waiting for the second payment from Insignia.

Lattef Elford Alliyu has ended the season as the club’s top scorer with 13 goals. Joe Attard thanked Coach Ivan Zammit for the great work and dedication throughout the season.
Joe Attard also said that there will be no election for the committee this year since the number of committee members is thirteen. The club’s officials for the coming season will be: Victor Sciriha (President), Paul Spiteri, Alexander Fenech and Antonio Bisignani (Vice Presidents). Joe Attard (General Secretary), Roderick Axisa (Treasurer). Dr. Pierre Farrugia, Joe Calleja, Mario Muscat, Mario Pisani, David Xuereb, James Mackay and Vincent Tabone (members).
The Club’s General Secretary ended his speech by thanking all the club’s sponsors for their support throughout the season.

Club President, Victor Sciriha started his speech by thanking those who attend the Annual General Meeting. The President said that ex Birkirkara coach Paul Zammit has agreed to sign a three year deal with the club, Sciriha also praised and described Zammit’s professional attitude towards his new job and said that by signing Zammit the club is building for the future.
Victor Sciriha revealed that one of the club’s main sponsors for the coming season will be Antonio Bisignani and that the committee is discussing with other sponsors.
The club has also made his first signing of the season, striker Njongo Priso. The club has four foreign players on trial, these are: Sami Ayouni, defender Maxin Focsa, Marouen Troudi and Hamza Messadi. The Club President stated that club will be signing 7 foreigner players for the coming season.
The President also mentioned the progress done on the new land the government has offered Valletta football club for the new Stadium. This land is not suitable for Valletta Football Club since a lot of excavation works needs to be done, resulting in a substantial sum of money which the club cannot afford. Victor Sciriha stated that this matter is not acceptable, since the club requires adequate training facilities. The club will continue working so that an adequate space of land will be offered to the club.
Sciriha stressed out the importance of more supporters becoming members in the club so that as from this season the list of members will increase.
Victor Sciriha ended his speech by thanking all the committee members, the Valletta Supporters Club, UB999 and those who help the club during the season.
